There's a new sheriff in town!

Last Friday we had a surprise party for Eric (for getting his badge) and it was a great success! He was totally surprised and we had over 10 people in our tiny little apartment! So much fun!

Finally, tonight was Eric's swearing-in ceremony! It was nice and I was so proud! Some of the pictures aren't the greatest but enjoy. :)

Congratulations to my honey for fulfilling his lifelong dream! :) So proud. <3

Tomorrow is my last day of work for the week! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

To the Veterans

"It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you."

"This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave."

"Freedom is never free."

"Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die."

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty." - John F. Kennedy

“We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free." - Ronald Reagan

"We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service: a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves." - President Obama

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -John F. Kennedy

Things I want to do this weekend

Seeing that this is the first weekend in many that we will have to ourselves, I plan to do something fun and/or productive.

1) See a movie - there are several on my list as I haven't had a free weekend in a while. Due Date, The Social Network (which apparently isn't playing in our theaters anymore! sad that it's been that long!), Saw 3D, Hereafter, Life as we Know It... something like that.

2) Clean the house. The bathroom in particular.

3) Finish assignment #2 for Psychology

4) Catch up on all the Tosh.0's, Keeping Up with the Kardashian's, and Top Model's on the DVR.

5) Make tacos with homemade tortillas and relax with friends!

I know it's only Wednesday but I'm already thinking about the weekend! There is no class tomorrow as it's Veteran's Day (yay my hubby is off work and we get a free lunch!) and then the week is almost done!

What are your weekend plans? :)

Free Christmas cards!

Now that we have our Christmas photos taken, I just have to choose one and get our cards together! Shutterfly.com is having a promotion for 50 free Christmas cards for bloggers (I'll tell you how at the end of this post), so I want to share my favorite products!

Here are a few of the designs that I may choose this year:

They have soooo many cute ones, it really is hard to choose! I'm really pleased that so many of their cards actually say "Merry Christmas", because as you know from my earlier post about Christmas cards, that is a requirement for me!

In addition to holiday cards, they offer a lot of other products. I've used Shutterfly in the past to print regular photos, and they have great prices! Here are a few items you may be interested in:
Have fun shopping, and be sure to participate and get your 50 free cards! Find out how here: Bloggers get 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly, click here: http://bit.ly/sfly2010

Let me know if you found anything you love and will use this year!

Family pictures

Here's a sneak peek of some family pictures we had taken last week, by lovely friend Sarah!

It has been a busy couple of weeks, and I have about 3 episodes of Grey's on my DVR to prove it! I have really missed relaxing on weekends/evenings with my favorite shows. This week is looking like a fairly "normal" one and there is NOTHING planned for this weekend. Hooray!

I was in my friend Brittany's wedding this weekend, and it was gorgeous! Here are the only photos I have access to right now - from the Shutter Booth she had at the reception! So much fun!

Happy Monday!
