Wow, what a week

It's hard to believe I only blogged ONCE this week! I can't remember having a week like the one I've had in ... well, a long time. I mean, I only cooked dinner ONCE this week, the rest of the time we were eating out. (lunches too...yikes) I worked on my school for a grand total of 30 minutes this entire week, and that's only because Eric forced me to. I drove a U-Haul WITH a car trailer behind it. I woke up at 5:50 two days in a row, worked 10 hours straight yesterday, got 5 hours of sleep Wednesday night, and have stress pimples on my face/neck. The house is a mess (I got some cleaned up this morning, but I'm pretty sure I could spend ALL day on it), the laundry is piled up, and my poor dog is going through quality time withdrawls.

BUT I'M GETTING A NEW CAR TOMORROW!!!!

Long (loooong, long, long) story short, we're trading in my Beetle (which isn't even fixed enough to drive all the way to Orlando [hence the U-Haul]) for this gorgeous hunk of metal on Saturday afternoon! I can't wait to have this process over and done with. I have to thank my husband, who did the majority of the research and dealing over the phone... I couldn't have done it without him! We actually thought we were getting it on Wednesday night, but after driving all the way there (hour and a half) in the U-Haul, it turned out that it was too late, the banks were closed, and he couldn't get the paperwork done. Plus there were a few issues with my car and how much I owed... but IT'S ALL GOOD NOW.  :) I can't wait!!

Car shopping

Soooo the car shopping is not as easy as I'd hoped. My poor husband spent all day yesterday on the phone and at dealerships. Part of the reason for that is, I have this price in my head (per-month cost) for a car payment that I WON'T go over, and we can't seem to meet it.

Last night we drove to Orlando to look at the Chevy Equinox (which, by the way, no one seems to have because it's so popular they can't keep them on the lot. So they say.) and we both really liked it. The only problem is it's so new that Chevy isn't offering any deals/discounts/rebates at ALL. I was SO PISSED at the "salesman" (if you could call him that - he was horrible) last night that we dealt with. He had such a "take it or leave it" attitude. At first we got a price on the upgraded 2010 Equinox, and it ended up to be too much for us. Eric had to keep asking him about all these little "fees" (which the guy called "options") on the invoice... he offered me $1000 less for my trade-in than the Ford guys did ... and he had the nerve to say that this car is so popular some people are willing to buy it OVER the STICKER price. GIVE ME A BREAK. By that point I was checked out... so pissed off at him that if he had even offered us the car at a better price, I wouldn't have bought it from him. When he left to get the price on the lower-grade model, I told Eric that there was no way we were buying a car from him tonight. He obviously doesn't want to sell us a car. He even sounded like he was complaining that he'd already had three deals that day and couldn't seem to "get a break" or a "day off". Like selling cars is a PROBLEM for you, mister?!?!? I was so over it. So Eric and I looked at the last price, said "Thanks, see ya" and walked out.

Eric is working this morning until noon, when I pick him up and he has the rest of the day off. I'm really hoping my car will get out of the shop today too, because I need it tomorrow! I think we're going to expand our search to other places in Tampa, even if we have to drive out there this weekend, just to see what other options people have. Plus, I want to look at the 2009 models with low mileage instead of a brand new 2010. I think I'll let Eric narrow the search down, do most of the "looking" over the phone, and not deal with any more salesmen until we've come to an agreement on a price!! :) Wish us luck!

Busy weekend, busier week

So just a quick re-cap of the weekend and I'm back to work. This week is gonna be super busy!

I drove to Tampa on Saturday for my friend Jen's birthday party. It was such a fun night!

Me with the birthday girl!

Jen's amazing cupcakes and the adorable tower!

Everyone

Sunday we celebrated my mom's birthday by making her lunch. It was fun, and I got to play with my nephews for a while.

Poor sick little JJ and I cuddled on the couch for a while.

On my way home my husband sent me this text saying "we might be buying you a new car tomorrow." Thankfully he suggested that I drive his car to Tampa (he doesn't trust my old car), and it's a good thing I did! This could've happened to me on the way there, and I probably would've done more damage to it by going 80 MPH!

(That is radiator fluid all over my engine)

Apparently something is wrong with the radiator and the hose. I don't really care anymore. The car is 10 years old, it's a Volkwsagen New Beetle and I love it but it gives us SO many problems. The inside upholstery is falling off too. It's time to bite the bullet and go car shopping! Eric took today off and is going around to look, and I'll join him tonight to see what he finds. I already know what I want, it's between these three:

Ford Edge

Chevy Equinox

Or Nissan Murano

I hope my hubby's negotiating skills pay off for us today! I can't wait to see what he's found out by lunch time today, and then to test drive them tonight after work! :)

New book, it's Friday, and there are tornado warnings!

This morning I got up at 6:10 to work out, and it was rainy and yuck outside. I drove to our apartment gym and did the elliptical, bike, and weights. Eric called me at like 6:55 saying "I want you to come home, there are tornado warnings in Viera" (about 10 minutes from us). Thankfully I was almost done anyway, so I drove back to the apartment. Eric and I are so different about this stuff. I totally could care less about hurricanes, tornados, or bad weather. Eric, on the other hand, bought us a weather radio (that went off at 4AM), and is glued to the news channel when we have this kind of weather. Before he left this morning he said, "Can you PLEASE keep the news on until you leave for work? You may not care, but I'm going to keep us alive." Hahah. He knows I turn it off as soon as he walks out the door, but I DID keep it on this morning. Later on in the morning there was rotation right around Patrick Air Force Base, so I hope nothing too bad happened there! I knew Eric would be safe though, so I didn't worry about it. :)

Last night I picked up a new book I saw at the bookstore... it looks really good. It's called "Love & War" by John and Stasi Eldredge (I love all of their books). It's about marriage, and I haven't started it yet, but just flipping through it I can't wait to!I bought it because I've been feeling like I want to read a really good book. Like, I need "soul food", ya know? I normally don't have time to read, but if it's good, I'll make the time.

Have any of you heard of Nymbler.com before? I discovered it today. It's a website where you pick out names you like, and it generates more names based on what you picked out. It was ok... nothing really stuck out at me, but it was fun to mess around with. I discovered it is MUCH easier for me to pick out girl names than boy names. There are so many girl names I l-o-v-e, and not a lot of boy names. I often wonder if Eric and I will EVER agree on anything, because any time I bring up a name I like he says "no" and most of his I don't like either! I love the names Madison, Madilyn, and Emma. I also picked out two boy names off Nymbler, but I already know Eric won't like them: Trenton and Chase. I  can't wait to see what we come up with when we're forced to agree on it someday! :)

Happy Friday Everyone!

Bored. Suuuper slow day.

Ugh, today is one of those days I wish would just end! It's going sooooooooooo slow for me. I don't have a ton to do at work (for once ... but just wait until next week when I have payroll, staff meeting, and our board of directors annual retreat all in the same week) and I would rather be at home and running errands. I need to get my mom's birthday gift (i'll probably go after work), get food for this weekend (Friday - my cousin and his wife are coming over, and Sunday for mom's birthday lunch). I'm always the one to organize things in my family... so I just tell people what to bring and when to be there. :)

So, what are everyone's plans for this weekend?

OH I almost forgot, I wanted to thank Kelly over at Keeping up w/ Kelly & Co for the Beautiful Blogger Award! :) Now I have something to write about... haha. I've been so stuck in a blogging rut latley.

Here are the rules:

-Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
-Copy the award & place it on your blog.
-Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
-Tell us 7 interesting things about yourself.
-Nominate 7 bloggers.
-Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.

So, seven interesting (or random) things about moi? Let's see what I can come up with...

#1) I don't like to be restrained, in any way, shape or form. Even when Eric goes to kiss me and like grabs my head, I always pull away. Eek! (he says I have "control issues" lol) One time Eric and I were play wrestling on the floor and he pinned me down in some way and I kept saying "let me go!" and he wouldn't... so I started crying! It wasn't fake, and I'm not claustrophobic, I just HATE being restrained. Wierd-o.

#2) I hated my nose growing up. I used to think it was too pointy and went "down" (instead of those cute, little perfect noses). I would "hold" it up with my fingers in hopes it would eventually stay that way. HAHA. I'm used to it now, and I guess I can thank my dad for giving it to me. :-P

#3) I was homeschooled all through highschool. I took Sign Language when I was younger, and Spanish too. I don't remember anything but the basics of either one. If I were to try and learn a new language now, it'd probably be something impractical like French, because I like the way it sounds (even though Spanish would be wayy more practical, especially living in Florida!).

#4) I don't eat any vegetables. Ever. (Unless they are sneakily stuck in my food somehow.) I sometimes wonder how I've stayed relatively healthy and alive up to this point, but I've done ok. I hate the smell, taste and texture of them. I don't really eat fruit either, but I like the taste of most fruit, just not the texture. I LOVE fruit smoothies. Recently I've been drinking that V8 Fusion (light) to help the food pyramid balance. :)

#5) My friend Sarah jokes that something is always wrong with me. I think that has only (maybe) been true in the past 2 or 3 years... it all started when I had to get an appendectomy. Later on that year I had a stomach ulcer. Then the next year I found out I had Supraventricular Tachycardia, and had surgery on that a year later. Then I had an off and on cyst on my neck that I had removed a few months ago. I can't remember what else has happened to me... although I've never broken a bone!

#6) I come across to most people as aloof, casual and calm; I kind of have a 'whatever' attitude. I don't give a lot of information out unless you ask, then I'll gladly tell you. However, deep down I'm super sensitive and hate seeing people hurting. Just the other night I was talking to Eric about someone in my family and started crying, wishing I could give them all of my money (even though it wouldn't fix the problem). I hate being so "sensitive" sometimes, but I guess it keeps the other side of me in balance.

#7) I don't drink caffeine. The most I ever get is when I have a diet coke or sweet tea. I hate coffee, and rarely drink hot tea. I hate energy drinks. One time Eric and I were trying these crazy "diet" pills that had caffeine in them, but I didn't know how much. I took the recommended two pills in the morning, and within minutes was shaking and couldn't concentrate. I couldn't believe how awful it felt to have that much caffeine!! Eric took two as well and it didn't have any affect on him. I'm glad I don't need it to get through the day!

There you go! Now, to nominate seven people:

1. Jenn @ Life, Love & Laughter with Jenn
2. Sarah @ Make it Luxe
3. My MOM Mari @ Mari's Musings
4. Callie @ Mrs. Callie Martinez
5. Sierra @ Ocean Dreams
6. Becca @ Lovely Yellow Ribbons
7. Jen @ Booty and Brains

Enjoy ladies! :)

Did you know...

I'm subscribed to this helpful little e-newsletter called "Hungry Girl" (check it out at http://www.hungry-girl.com/) which I love. It sends a lot of new, healthy recipes, plus a lot of popular restaurant recipes that have been revised to have less fat and calories. It's great! Today, the article was about labels on packages of food and had a very shocking statistic:

DID YOU KNOW: The stats on food labels can LEGALLY be off by as much as 20%!!

Now, this can go either way. They could be higher, OR they could be lower as well. Still, 20% is a lot!

She offered some tips to help:

1. If you count calories, pad your numbers a bit. What I mean by "pad your numbers" is that you can round up -- if something says it has 280 calories, count it as 300. Small changes totally make a difference.

2. If something tastes too good to be true (especially if it's from a small mom-and-pop company), it may very well be -- so don't kid yourself. If you start eating some new treat regularly, and then you notice extra pounds creeping on when they shouldn't be, you might wanna ditch that snack or count extra calories for it.

3. The nutritional stats for all types of food -- even fruit and lean protein -- vary due to size and weight. So weigh your food once in a while to see if the actual weight matches the given or assumed amount.

Wow, crazy huh? At any rate, the newsletters are FULL of awesome tips, product suggestions, and recipes. Check it out and let me know what you think! Just yesterday she had a recipe-swap for chocolate chip cheese danish. It looks amazing (who doesn't love chocolate and cream cheese??) and I can't wait to try it! (See the recipe here)

Today I had lunch with my girlfriends Callie and Tiffani at Hurricanes. It was fun! Too bad I only had an hour. :( I'm really looking forward to heading to Tampa this weekend for Jen's birthday party. Plus we're celebrating my mom's birthday on Sunday afternoon. Yay!

The sickness it ov-a!

Well, I think am *finally* mostly over my horrible cold. Saturday I was feeling better, and had a good night with our friends at the Pizza Gallery (pomegranate martinis there ROCK!) then coming home to play games. I don't know if it was the alcohol or what, but Sunday I felt like I'd been hit by a truck again. I also got a lovely yeast infection from the antibiotics that Dr. prescribed me. Seriously, I had three things going on at once (UTI which is what started it all, a cold, and then a yeast infection. G-R-O-S-S). I was taking Bactrim, Vitamin C and Sudafed . I also took some Motrin because of the headaches from the cold. I was seriously digging through my medicine basket to find something that I thought would work and clear up my head. I tried some Tylenol Cold pills, which did help. Sunday night I took two Nyquill, soaked in a bath with sea salts, and slept great. I woke up today feeling SO much better. I never thought I would be excited to say I only blew my nose THREE times today! LOL.

Yesterday I also stopped taking the antibiotics (Bactrim) even though I'm not "done" with the 10 days worth. I don't even care. I know I'm gonna get crucified by all you medical people out there, but I know they were making me stay sick (I was sick for a WEEK. That never happens to me). Plus they were giving me a yeast infection, and those Monistat things are gross. Since the doctor's office on base was closed Friday-Monday, and the on-call doc wouldn't call in Diflucan, I gave up. Sue me. I'm feeling better, and that's all I wanted!!!

Today Eric and I had lunch at Chic-fil-a (yum) and did a little shopping .I found a cute black top and a blue halter top dress I plan on wearing on our cruise in June. I can't wait!

Also, I'm really excited that next month we might NOT have to pay rent! Apparently there is a deal going on, and Eric referred another guy and his girlfriend (some guy he was sponsoring on base) to live here. That is HUGE! I hope it works out. Although, Eric IS just gonna use the money to go towards his Mac laptop he's been begging for since last year. Haha. Oh! And tax season is here! I love doing our taxes and finding out what kind of refund we're getting. :) Most of our refund this year is going towards our "house down-payment" fund, but I'm still excited about it.

I hope you all had a great weekend, even if it wasn't three days. :)

Sooo.... do blonde's really have all the fun?!?

At my hair appointment last night I was feeling frisky, ready for something new.

Soooo, my stylist put in blonde highlights and brown lowlights!!

I love it! It's different, but that's what I wanted!

I love it! :)

I'm off to The World of Beer tonight with a bunch of friends. I'm lOvInG this 3-day weekend!

Head over and check it out!

TGIF!

I am feeling much better, and was FINALLY able to sleep last night. :) It's amazing what a good night's sleep will do for ya!

So ... they are now making Barbie's like Lady GaGa. Crazy, huh! But they are pretty cute!

Haha! I'm not sure I'd want my little girl trying to dress like her (she's pretty crazy!), but if I were her, I'd be flattered I already have a Barbie made to look like me! :)

So this weekend... this THREE-DAY weekend... I'm really looking forward to relaxing, catching up on school, and going out with some friends on Saturday night. Maybe we'll even use some of our free movie tickets to go see a movie. I love weekends! I'm getting my hair done tonight, which I also love. I'm meeting Eric for lunch today, too (double love). :)

Have a great Friday everyone!

Still not 100%

Nothing great or wonderful to tell over here! I felt worse Wednesday morning so I stayed home from work. I got a really bad cold, on top of the UTI. I got the Dr. to prescribe me some medication, so I started feeling better last night. I'm back at work today, and I feel ok, I'm just blowing my nose every 10 minutes.

I'm so happy this is payday and we have a 3-day weekend coming up! :)

I finally got through my "Grammar/English" module in school. The hardest part was the first chapter, about nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjective, etc. O.M.G. Seriously I didn't think they could be that difficult, but I just get all mixed up in my head when I try to take the test. So I had to skip one of the tests and go back later when I have someone to help! Haha!

This is how I tried to remember all the definitions:

It obviously didn't work! LOL Now I'm moving on to Anatomy and Disease... which I expect to be harrrrd.

Ugh

Ugh, I am so miserable today. It all started last night at the gym ...

I left work right at 5:00 so I could get to the gym with enough time to run a couple of miles before meeting with my trainer at 6:00. I started running on the treadmill (which, P.S., I really miss running outside, it's so much easier! Darn this cold weather...) and my armband kept falling off. That happened twice. Plus, my new headphones that my MIL bought me for Christmas didn't fit right and kept falling out (they're supposed to be the kind for runners, that go behind your head... but totally didn't work for me!). PLUS, my underwear kept falling off my butt! LOL I know it sounds ridiculous, and probably TMI, but hey, it added to the problem, ok? Haha.

So I went upstairs to a different part of the gym to try out their new treadmills (also because there was less people, so no one could see me pulling my underwear up every 30 seconds). I decided to hold my ipod/armband (I have to at least do that, or it won't track with my Nike+ thingy in my shoe), but the headphones kept falling out. GRR. I lasted about .75 miles and quit. I was soo frustrated. At least I got to start my workout with my trainer about 15 minutes early.

So I got home in a really bad mood, and ate some quick frozen chinese food Eric heated up, and started on school. Oh yeah, so I'm doing the online school to be a Medical Transcriptionist, right. Last night I also happened to see a friend of Eric's status on Facebook ... someone had commented about being a MT, who supposedly has been one for 10 years. She was saying "don't waste your time going to school, there are no jobs for newbies anymore, and you have to literally be typing for 8 hours a day to make any money, you won't make more than 25K a year..." blah blah blah. So that pissed me off a lot. I'm busting my ass on school and a full time job, and it may not even be worth it? Grrrreeeat.

About 9:30pm Eric said he's headed to bed. I decided to stay up later and take a bubble bath, hopefully calm down and find some "zen". Haha. I turned off all the lights, lit one candle, poured in my "stress relief" aromotherapy bubble bath, and sat in pure silence for about 10-15 minutes. It was amazing. No one needed me, there was no noise, no mess to clean up... and did put me in a better mood, slightly. I went to bed about 10:20pm.

One thing I hate the most, is when I take a pill to help me sleep (like Unisom or Simply Sleep) and it DOESN'T WORK. That happened last night. I was laying in bed tossing and turning for a while, and couldn't stop thinking about school (I was, like, quizzing myself... aah! Don't I get enough of that during the day?!). Also, we have a queen sized bed, and I am always shoving Eric in hopes that he'll scoot over, because I truly believe he takes up more room than I do. Plus he likes to touch me while we're sleeping, and I do NOT like to touch ANYTHING while I'm sleeping. If he moves, I wake up. He pulls the covers... I wake up. Endless cycle.

Side note... we are getting a KING SIZED BED when we move to a house! Period. Endofstory.

So then, I guess I fell asleep for a little while, because at 2AM I woke up and felt like I had to pee, but also had that feeling like my bladder wasn't really FULL, I just had to pee. You know. All girls know. I didn't want to go to the bathroom to prove my theory right, but I did, and yes, I was right. Damn UTI. Great, awesome, just what I needed. I had some cranberry pills and some AZO, which I loaded up on then went back to bed. Or tried to.

I tossed and turned for about 20 minutes, and finally asked Eric "can you scoot over?" (he kept touching me) and he said "no, I'm on the edge." (I'm thinking: "how can YOU be on the edge when I am on the edge too??" Hmm what a mystery.) Finally, I give up, take my pillow, cell phone (aka: alarm clock... which, btw, I changed from 6AM to 7AM, because I was so miserable and tired I KNEW I wouldn't get up to run) and grab a comforter and head to the couch. At least there no one can touch me, pull the covers, or keep me awake. Plus, I wouldn't keep Eric awake either.

My bladder was burning so it took me a good hour or more to fall asleep, but I finally did. It was probably the most I slept all night - maybe 4 hours. God help me today.

I'm feeling kinda like I'm getting sick too, but I'm not sure if it's all the cranberry pills I took or what. Tonight, I swear, I'm going to bed no later than 9PM.

And that couch doesn't sound so bad either ...

Thoughts

I don't normally post twice in one day, especially only an hour after my first post. But I have all these thoughts swirling in my head. I feel like I'm anxious for something different... like, a makeover, a move, or ... something. Have you ever felt like that? Like you're just ready for life to change drastically? Ok not in a bad way, but like it's time for something new and different?

I feel like this year will be a long one. I'll be so anxious for the end of it... because starting in October, EVERYTHING is going to change for us. Eric will get out of the military, hopefully be employed by Orlando Police Department, we'll probably move to Orlando, buy a house, and I'll get off birth control for the first time EVER since being married! I'm kinda sorta hoping to give an extra special "christmas present" to our families... another grandkid! :) Hehe.

Since I don't want to go through and write too much detail, here is what I want to do in bullet form:

- Make an appointment with my doctor to get a prescription for some good pre-natal vitamins
- Get a facial
- Get a tan
- Start putting a notebook together for house designs... or find something online to use
- Start LOOKING online for houses, so we can start checking them out mid-year
- Finish school by December
- Get my concealed weapons permit
- Have a plan for decorating our house. I am not good at planning stuff out, but I do have ideas. I don't want to do anything without having a plan first, and I want Sarah to come help me decorate/design it! :)

Ok, there, I feel better now. :)

It snowed in Florida

Can you believe it?!? It SNOWED in Florida! I'm sure you northerners aren't impressed, but I am kinda shocked! It didn't snow where we're at (we got sleet), but it did in Northern FL... check it out!

Pretty cool, huh? :)

We had a fun Saturday night with friends. We played our new game (The Game of Things) and watched The Hangover. Eric's friend John recently got engaged to Jenna - so they had to have a celebratory shot in my "Bride" and "Groom" shotglasses. ;)

Playing The Game of Things

I hope everyone else had a great weekend. It's Monday again.... blah. However I'm looking forward to this upcoming 3-day weekend! Thank you MLK! :)

Here's a little something from Awkward Family Photos to make you laugh today. It's the Duggar's!

"And that, my friends, is how a baby is made." LOLs!

Happy Monday everyone!

Medical terminology

Tonight we're meeting some friends (Tiffani and husband Patrick, and Callie and Rams) for dinner. :) I'm so glad we've FINALLY met some couples our age that live here in Melbourne! It only took me a year! Haha.

So far I've gotten through the first three "modules" of my online classes. The second 2 were supposed to take 10 hours each, but definitely did not (they were easy ones for me). Now I'm just getting into the whole medical part of it... root words, suffix, prefix, compounds... omg. This is all new for me! I'm writing out the root words (I'm only in the A's) on index cards with the answer on the back, trying to memorize their meaning. If I associate it with something (which is hard with 3-4 letter root words like  'aort' and 'adip') it really helps. Like that 'adip' one means "fat". How I remember it is the "p" at the end I remembered as "phat"... lol. Crazy, but it works for me!

Thank God tomorrow is FRIDAY! It's been a good week, seeing that my body has been re-adjusting to working and not eating holiday foods again. Tomorrow night we're going to dinner with Eric's family in Orlando. Saturday I'm working on school, going to see a movie with friends, and my cousin might come over that night. Sunday, school and relaxing! :)

Have a great evening, everyone! Stay warm!

Record temp in FL

I'm pretty sure I heard the weather man say that last night was the coldest it's been in Florida in over a decade! Seriously people?!?

This is what Eric's car looked like this morning at about 6:30 when I went running (IN the gym). I had to scrape off the ice so I could see!

Is that snow?? I can't tell... haha.

Last night I tried out a new weight watchers recipe, called Layered Mexican Chicken. I wasn't sure about it, but Eric RAVED over it and even brought the leftovers to work today! (the TRUE test of if he likes what I make - because he doesn't like leftovers!) Mine didn't look this prettty, but it sure tasted good! I also cut the servings in half, so we wouldn't have as much leftover.

Layered Mexican Chicken

Ingredients:
1 spray(s) olive oil cooking spray
2 pound(s) uncooked boneless, skinless chicken breast
30 oz canned black beans, rinsed and drained
3 cup(s) fat-free sour cream
2 cup(s) shredded reduced-fat Mexican-style cheese, divided
8 oz chopped green chilies, two 4-oz cans
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
12 medium corn tortilla(s), cut into 2-inch strips
1 cup(s) salsa, mild, medium or hot

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Coat a lasagna pan with cooking spray.

Place chicken in medium saucepan and fill with enough cold water just to cover chicken. Set pan over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes; drain. When chicken is cool enough to handle, cut into 1-inch pieces.

Transfer chicken to a large bowl and add beans, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheese, chilies, cumin, and pepper; mix well and set aside.

Arrange half of tortillas in bottom of prepared lasagna pan, overlapping pieces to cover surface. Top tortillas with half of chicken mixture, layer with remaining tortillas and then top with remaining chicken mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cup of cheese.

Bake until filling is bubbly and cheese is melted, about 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing into 12 pieces. Serve with salsa on the side.

Exciting

So, I'm back at work, but it hasn't been too bad at all. I got through my emails in 10 minutes, and didn't have any voicemails! Yay!

Last night we went out to dinner with some friends to Chili's. My neighbor, Callie (who just started a blog too!) has been taking classes online to become a Certified Medical Transcriptionist. She was telling me about it, and apparently the military offers this scholarship of up to $6K for military wives that would more than pay for the schooling, and it takes less than a year to finish. Plus, CMT's can work from home, which is my goal in about a year. She emailed me the info, and I already filled out the application process and can't wait to get started!

A day at the range

Today we went to an indoor range and shot some guns with our neighbors, Callie and Rams. It was lots of fun! It was Callie's first time shooting and she did great! :) I only have these pictures from Eric's Blackberry... our camera is still dead.

We own a Glock 19, but we rented a Glock 40 and tried that out too!

I effed this guy up! Haha. I was pretty proud of my head shot!

First post of 2010!

Sooo we had an amazing party on New Years Eve at our place!! It was sort of last minute, but sooo much fun. Unfortunantely, my camera is DEAD and we can't find the charger, so I have to wait until the one we ordered online comes in to post pictures. Our neighbors Callie and Rams came over, Jason (Eric's cousin) and some new friends Patrick and Tiffani. We had drinks, a midnight toast, and the boys played beer pong. I went to bed around 4AM... a definite record! We had a blast!

I hope everyone else had a safe and happy new years eve! I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for us!

Today Eric and I met some other friends for lunch, brought some stuff to our storage unit, and went shopping at the mall for a little bit. I spent $150 on new lingerie (mostly bras) at the VS Semi-Annual sale! It was great! :)
