The last few days of September...

We had a great trip to Indiana! We got back Monday afternoon and stopped by my in-laws house to check on Amira. The poor thing apparently had diarrhea since Saturday and made a mess of my MIL's house. Ugh. Eric and I went out to lunch then headed home, picking up some medicine for her on the way.

I forgot my camera on this trip so all the pictures with my family and my cousins wedding I'm waiting to get from mom. I do have pictures from our double date with Sarah and Kent though! We went to see a movie and had dinner afterwards. It was so good to see my bff again! :)

Leaving on a jet plane...

We're headed to Orlando tonight and I haven't even STARTED to pack yet. Our flight leaves in the morning at 7:30AM or so, and since we're going with my parents, they are picking us up at Eric's parents at like 5:30AM! Thankfully I was smart enough to do laundry a few days ago, so all I have to do is lay everything out and put it in a bag, pack up all of Amira's stuff, and go.

Last night I worked out w/ my personal trainer, and I am soo sore today. I felt really "off" yesterday, like everything was hard to do and sore all over. I know I'm not getting sick, but it was weird to struggle running just 2 miles. It felt like before I had my heart ablation... not very fun. I hardly slept last night, but strangely, I feel better today. Whatever. Sometimes I think I'm just getting old and need to take more vitamins!

Over lunch today I got my nails done, just for fun. I love acrylics, but my nails grow so fast I have to get them filled in every week or so. It's crazy. But I still do it. :)

I'll write later about the our trip... the gorgeous weather, the relaxing vacation with family, my cousin Rachel's wedding, and seeing my bff Sarah! Can't wait! xoxox

Happy 1st day of Fall!

Happy first day of Fall everyone! This is my absolute favorite season of the year. Being from Florida I never saw much of a change in weather/colors, but I've always loved it regardless. Eventually the weather changes (for a couple of weeks at a time when we get a "cold front") and I get to wear my sweaters, scarves and boots. :) I also love Fall because of all the upcoming holidays!

It was a tradition in my house growing up to decorate for Christmas on Thanksgiving Day (or the day after). I used to think this was crazy and way too early, but now I love doing it. Even though I have my own house to decorate, I still go over to mom's and help her out. It's so much fun. I l-o-v-e decorating for holidays!

Another tradition we had growing up was taken after the Pilgrims and the "First Thanksgiving". Before we ate, Mom would give everyone 5 kernels of corn (we used Corn Nuts) and we'd go around eating one at a time, saying something we were thankful for.

Mom would always start the turkey early in the morning (she does this thing where she puts garlic under the skin... ooOOoOo it's soooo yummy), and we'd set the table and help out with the cooking. Once it was all done, Dad would carve the turkey. Us kids would stand around and try to steal little pieces of turkey and he would always pretend he was going to chop our fingers off. Hahaha. This year I'm going to ask mom if I can make - or atleast do the turkey - for Thanksgiving dinner! I need to practice!

What are some traditions you had growing up at this time of year?

Happy Fall Everyone!

Weekends + shopping + dates = love

The weekend started off with a date to Outback Steakhouse:

Eric had to work all weekend, so I made use of the time by shopping.

I had to get these shoes. Believe it or not, I have never owned a pair like this (pointy toes), and hardly have any closed-toe shoes anyway. Cooler weather will be here soon, so I'll need something other than sandals (which we Floridians have plenty of).

I got a couple of sweaters:

I couldn't resist these - they were only $3!!

Eric needed some more cologne so he asked me to buy him some today (Polo Blue - yummm). I got myself some Juicy! MmMmMM.

Target has the cutest headbands! It was hard to decide, but I only got one:

This morning I left Eric this cute little card just because I love him :)

I'm ready for the week to begin (for once!) It'll be a short week because I'm off Friday and Monday of next week - we'll be headed to Indiana on Friday morning with my parents! Can't wait to enjoy some cooler weather, AND I get to see Sarah! Yayyyy! (oh, and I get to see grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles too - haha)

P.S. Just this week we got a belated wedding gift from a friend who came to our wedding but forgot to leave the gift. It was a $100 visa gift card! It'll be nice spending money for our upcoming trip! :) Aren't weddings great?

New dress - date night!

Remember the Convertible Dress from Victoria's Secret I wanted to order? I did, and I got it tonight! I just had to take some pictures. I L-O-V-E it. I now believe every girl should have one in her closet! It's such a sexy staple!

I'm really excited about it.

Tonight is date night with my hubby so I'm outta here. xoxo.

Eric Joseph Strodtman

I was tagged by LeeAnn to do this cute questionaire on my hubby! :)

1.What is his name? Eric Joseph Strodtman

2. Who eats more? Definitely him!

3. Who said, "I love you" first? This has been in debate from the beginning. I distinctly remember saying it to him first, in Paris. He thinks he said it first. Who knows? :)

4. Who is taller? He's taller by a couple of inches

5. Who is more sensitive? It's a close tie. We're sensitive about different things. I'd say in our relationship, though, he is more sensitive.

6. Who does the laundry? Mostly I do, but he is a HUGE help!

7. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? That's my spot! :)

8. Who pays the bills? Thankfully, he takes care of it all. I LOVE that! I take care of spending it! hahaha.

9. Who cooks more? Definitely me. He is the grillmaster though.

10. Who is more stubborn? Most of the time I am. However, he has his moments when something is really important to him. :)

11. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? *sigh* Him.

12. Who has more siblings? We each have two - a sister and a brother.

13. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Who do you think? haha. We have a really good, balanced relationship. We talk about everything, and usually we come to an agreeable solution. If we can't, I defer to him.

14. What do you like to do together? Travel!! It's one of our favorite things. We've been to Paris, London, Spain, Portugal, The Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos together. Next year we'll be going to Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and Jamicia! Additionally we like cuddling, watching movies, having a few drinks, BBQ's with family and friends, etc.

15. Who eats more sweets? Neither of us, really. His weakness is definitely ice cream though!

6. Guilty Pleasures? He loves his beer! Other than that, his pleasure is me. :)

17. How did you meet? We met through a friend and started talking online because at the time he was stationed in Spain, and I was in Tampa, FL. We planned a trip to Paris in February of 2007 (over Valentines Day - sigh) and the rest is history.

(This was the view from our hotel in Paris)

18. Who asked whom out first? I'd have to say he asked me, because he sent me the first message. haha.

19. Who kissed who first? We kissed in the hotel lobby of the Hilton in Paris.

(This was us kissin' it up in Paris, the day we met)

20. Who proposed? He did. Christmas 2007. He had the ring wrapped in a giant box with a bunch of smaller boxes inside, weighted with sand. Sneaky, sneaky. ;)

(Christmas day 2007, the day he proposed)

21. His best features and qualities? Being married to him is so much fun. It's like spending every day with my best friend (because he is). He is strong, confident, funny, and balanced. He would do anything for me, and is going to be a great dad someday. I love you babe!!

22. Tag you’re it. Who do you tag? I don't have many married friends on here! I'm gonna tag Sarah (even though she was already tagged), Brite, and Macy (even though she doesn't really use blogspot). :)

Frogs, snails and puppy dog tails

I figure if people with kids can post endless amounts of pictures and write about every detail of their latest developments, I can write about my puppy! :) So last night I had a little photo shoot with my puppy-love, Amira, and the new jacket/outfit I bought her. She LOVES dressing up. She sits there as soon as she sees the outfit and waits for me to put it on!!

Lately her fascination has been lizzards. Whenever I take her out on a walk, she is so hyper and runs to every tree and bush to scare the lizzards out, then chases them as far as her leash will go. She also loves any article of clothing, but especially socks and underwear. She doesn't hurt them, but she just loves to play. Last night when I got back from the gym and took my socks and shoes off, she ran up and stole my socks within 2 seconds. I don't understand why, but hey, she loves it.

Moving on...
Aren't these halloween treets so adorable? I may not even make them because we never do anything for halloween, but I'm keeping them in my recipe book just in case! (I found most of them at the Hostess with the Mostesss blog)

This one is from Schwans.

P.S. Does anyone else experience high levels of frustration when uploading pictures to blogger.com for your post? When I do it all my pictures go straight to the top of the post, not where I have my cursor placed, then I have to drag them down to where I want them, and it really messes everything up!! Any suggestions from the pros out there??
